- Note*: Based on info from the Ontario, Canada census of 1851, I would estimate the year of emigration from England to Canada to be between 1830-1835. His children's place of birth is what suggests this. Abednego, born about 1830, is enumerated as having been born in England. Elijah, born about 1835 is listed as having been born in Canada. Additionally, while I know that John Patchett originated in England, I have no idea where in England he came from. I checked with a researcher who is a descendent of the Yorkshire Patchett clan and he stated that he'd not run across an Abednego or John Patchett. The following cut/pasted from the email:
